Product Stock Status not updated in collection listing#92

When viewing a collection of products, if inventory status is 0 and product is set to continue to sell the items shows as “in stock” however once you click through to the product page it shows as backordered/out of stock etc.

It would be great for this stock status to be updated in the collections views so it is accurately reflected.

Has anyone figured out a fix for this? We’ve been experiencing the same problem for about a month. Also in stock bundles are displaying as backordered on the product page.

After reviewing this, we determined it’s more of an issue rather than feature request, so we are closing this request and making an issue report on it instead. Thanks for your patience while we fix this!

Just an update here!
After further investigation, we’ve realized this isn’t a bug but a limitation in how product data is structured. There are possible workarounds, but they come with performance and UX concerns, so this isn’t something we’ll be updating.

Some possible options:

• Disable the inventory message on product cards, or
• Customize the collection listing default “in stock” text (Edit default content > Store availability > General > In stock) to something that works for both in-stock and backordered products, such as “Ready to order”.

We know this may not be ideal, but we want to be transparent about the constraints. Thanks again for your feedback.
